Sweden Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I can feel your energy from a mile away
Taken from the innocence of my bones
Seven years a slave to my own insanity
Now I have to make it out on my own

[Refrain]
Think of all the people, fashion
Everybody's fake with poise
Keep it on a lid
But you still find a way to make some noise

[Chorus]
If you knew me better, you'd know better than to leave me there
Hanging on to nothing, leaving grudges with a broken stare
Maybe if I called, maybe if I called
Leave another round, drink another round
Always on the run

[Verse 2]
I can feel your hesitance from a mile away
Seem to know it all when I don't know
I can feel your energy from a mile away
Taken from the innocence of my bones

[Refrain]
Think of all the people, fashion
Everybody's fake with poise
Keep it on a lid
But you still find a way to make some noise
[Chorus]
If you knew me better, you'd know better than to leave me there
Hanging on to nothing, leaving grudges with a broken stare
Maybe if I called, maybe if I called
Leave another round, drink another round
Always on the run

About

Genius Annotation

Sweden is the penultimate song on She’s Only Sixteen’s first album entitled ‘Whatever That Was’.

Initially released on Soundcloud around mid-2016, the song has gone through various changes, most notably the intro, which is composed of mic feedback run through lead guitarist Andrew Panopio’s Roland Space Echo guitar pedal. The drums on the album were also sampled from Mac DeMarco’s Chamber of Reflection

The song was initially about an actual Swedish girl, according to an old ask.fm answer from frontman Roberto Seña.
