Ice Spice Teams Up With PinkPantheress For Brand-New Remix “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2”

The original dropped back in November.

Back in November, U.K. bedroom-pop sensation PinkPantheress teamed up with electronic producer Mura Masa for “Boy’s a liar,” a Jersey club-style dance track about, well, a boy who’s a liar. That song was a big hit on the Genius Top Songs chart, and so is the brand-new remix featuring arguably the hottest rapper in the game right now, Ice Spice.

“Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” is virtually identical to the PinkPantheress original, except Ice Spice jumps in with a third verse that continues the song’s theme of confronting a no-good boyfriend. Ice’s guy is apparently a two-timer, though he can’t get the Bronx rapper out of his head.

Like that boy is a cap
Sayin’ he home, but I know where he at, like
Bet he blowin’ her back
Thinkin’ ’bout me ’cause he know that ass fat (Damn)

Ice Spice vows to not respond to his calls or texts, but that might be easier said than done. She’s caught real feelings here.

But I don’t sleep enough without you
And I can’t eat enough without you (Huh)
If you don’t speak, does that mean we’re through? (Huh)
Don’t like sneaky shit that you do (Grrah)

In a recent interview with NME, PinkPantheress said she’s not really into remixes, and she’s very picky when it comes to collaborations. But she made an exception for Ice Spice, whom she connected with on Instagram. “Even though Ice Spice does drill, her flows are super unique and the beats she chooses are different,” PinkPantheress said. “A lot of people would struggle with the beats I choose, but I knew she’d be good for it.”

Ice Spice was also a good fit for the vibe of the song—which is maybe a bit surprising, given the brash confidence she usually exudes. “I guess it was a good opportunity for her to show a more vulnerable side,” PinkPantheress said. “I think it’s good to create more of a three-dimensional character as a musician.”
