Some people live their dreams
Some people close their eyes
Some people's destiny
Passes by
There are no guarantees
There are no alibis
That's how our love must be
Don't ask why
It takes some time
God knows how long
I know that I can forget you
As soon as my heart stops breakin'
Anticipating
As soon as forever is through
I'll be over you
Remembering times gone by
Promises we once made
What are the reasons why
Nothing stays the same
There were the nights holding you close
Someday I'll try to forget them
As soon as my heart stops breakin'
Anticipating (anticipating)
As soon as forever is through
I'll be over you
As soon as my heart stops breakin' (as soon as my heart stops breakin')
Anticipating (anticipating)
Someday I'll be over you
As soon as my heart stops breakin' (as soon as my heart stops breakin')
Anticipating (anticipating)
Someday I'll be over you
As soon as my heart (as soon as my heart stops breakin')
(Anticipating)
Some people close their eyes
Some people's destiny

As soon as my heart stops breakin'

Used to be the song that cruised [forever] around my head when my girlfriend left me, back when...
Forever is through by now; nothing stays the same, not even heartbreaks ;-) So, today, I still love to listen to the song, without emotional ties, breakdowns & other no-no's.
First off wtf is wrong with the 80's? People keep saying I know it's from the 80's but.... WTF! The 80's was the time when allot of the best music, and movies were made. Not to mention I was made in the 80's which makes it even better.
That being said the lyrics are pretty straightforward. This song came on my ipod this morning on the way to work. It doesn't remind me of someone special, because there is no such thing. It reminds me of a girl that ripped my heart to shreds time, and time again. Finally I had to tell her good bye for good. She is just another face in the crowd now. I hope the day I forget comes soon.
I suppose I was bitter when I posted this. Guess what, years have passed, and she has once again returned to my life, and things between us could not be better. I guess the lyrics remain true. <br /> <br /> "As soon as forever is through<br /> I'll be over you"<br />
@crxbart Wow, surprised to see your update! Happy to hear your good news! I think many of us listen to songs like this, secretly wishing for just that kind of thing!
@crxbart The 80's were fun! Granted things were bright, colorful, big hair, but so what? Good music lasts forever.<br /> <br /> My take on older music:<br /> <br /> Older music relied on talent more than gadgets. No computer cut and paste. The tape was cut manually to edit. Real instruments, real sight reading, more chord changes, singing in tune. Keyboards with manually created sound!<br /> Not that we don't have real musicians today, but they're fewer in number.<br /> <br /> New technology has paved the way for those who want to be creative, but it should just be for beginners mostly and a way of capturing ideas to expand upon at a later time. It's fun to experiment, but don't let technology consume your ideas, lest it begins to sound the same as others.
Why do people keep saying "even though it's from the 80's" as if that's a bad thing? Some of the best music is from the 80's! No need to apologize for enjoying 80's music.
@n3bulous I don't think they mean it in a negative way. I think they're saying "It was written before my time but I still can relate to it."
@n3bulous Good music lasts forever!
It's been a long, long time since I've heard this song, and wow, it does bring back to the surface some mistakes that were both her fault and mine. It's that whole Forrest Gump story, best friends from a young age, but the girl couldn't see how much he was trying to help her. She still doesn't. Song speaks from me because I'd rather not forget her because she is a sister to me and when we do see each other, it's just like the old times again. I see her a lot now, actually. I'll never be over her, and I just want this to have a happier ending
Basically, this song is about an undying love within the singer, whether it be unrequited or not. Either way, it seems he loves her still and believes he will never be over it because its so strong.
@urasaisaru :'( i feel for you bro, i have the same sympathy.
beautiful...just beautiful
whenever forever is thru, ill be over you....ill never be over you!
we all have one....
This verse says it all. He will never be over her. Since forever is... well... forever He will never be over her.
"As soon as my heart stops breaking Anticipating As soon as forever is through I'll be over you"
This song reminds of someone special and it took me years to get over her...and thankfully it didn't take forever..
i remember my girl, we broke up almost 3 years ago but yet she is still in my heart and i still love her and wishing someday we will be together again.....
It's all about an undying love...nothing more...nothing less. Simply an enduring love.
I love this line:\n\nThere were the nights holding you close\nSomeday I\'ll try to forget them\n\nIts like the person will try and get around to trying to forget those nights....\nNot in any hurry. \n\nA really good song, i can\'t stop listening to it.
