I, I, I, I, I, I
Know how to transorm
I transform
I transform
I'm a transformer
I, I, I, I, I, I
Know how to transorm
I transform
(I can do it)
I'll transform
(I can do it)
I'm a transformer

I'm just being myself
Plus I gotta be me too
Silly of me to think that
I couldn't bring myself to be you
Ah but behold there is benevolence
Behind this but I don't stare enough
Be careful 'cause I'll kill you
With kindness
That's why I'm dressed quite neatly
'Cause it's easy and discreetly they seek me
And when they reach me and see me they
Believe me completely
I'm a real live wire I ain't lying
If it's between me and you I ain't dying
I can transform, I can transform,
I can transform
Without even trying wow

I, I, I, I, I, I
Know how to transorm
I transform
I transform
I'm a transformer
I, I, I, I, I, I
Know how to transorm
I transform
I'll transform
I'm a transformer

Now I'm someone else
Now someone can be me too
Behold the beautiful and bold everyday I
Wake up to be new
Oh but it's simple but they still
Can understand why
I think I can, I think I can,
I think I can oh can I?
I'm a microchip off the old block
You know not but I was a robot
And I sold rock and you would get
For sho shoot with a gold
Glock boy I rode pac
Something that you won't see again
What the hell might as well be a friend
I can transform, I can transform,
No telling who I will have to
Be again.

I, I, I, I, I, I
Know how to transorm
I transform
I transform
I'm a transformer
I, I, I, I, I, I
Know how to transorm
I transform
I'll transform
I'm a transformer

I personally think that this song is about having different lifestyles or personalities that come out into the open at different times during one's life.

The personalities obviously represent change and well, transformation of a character in different appearances.

Although there are probably many other interpretations of it, that's just my opinion.

I think this song is about being able to adapt and become whatever the situation calls for.

Isn't Dangermouse a bit of a nerd? I think this is also a bit of a referance to the old TV show and toys.

"Im a microchip off the old block You know not but I was a robot"

Not saying the whole thing is about that, but I think that's where the insperation comes from...

this song pretty much is just insane. In a good way.

I would try and interpret this, but I really can't. The best I can do is that perhaps its talking about crack dealers in the 80's. the mention of pac, "I used to be a robot" (robots being considered retro) and selling rock, but I don't think either member of gnarls barkley would have such a shallow message in there songs (in comparison to there others at least, which by common consensus are also rather hard to decrypt.)

Anyone know what the pac line is about? Something about drugs, guns, and mindless robots? Props to the old school and Tupac?

I like the opening line with different voice effects doing different transformed identities of cee-lo.

Also, I think there should be a lyric correction in there somewhere:

"I'ma transform, independent of who I have to be again"

I agree with some aforementioned views. Its about how you're not the same person from the beginning to the end of your life. you change and are what you need to be at every point in your life.

at one point in his life (when he was young) he was a dealer and that's who he had to be.

now he is grown, has a family, and he dresses neatly and can "kill you with kindness"

and he doesn't know what he may transform into later:

"aint no tellin who i'll have to be again."

i agree with all of you. this song to means that one can't be pigeon held in one stereotypical view. I'm a black dude with dreads so i can definitely identify with this song. and people should really check out the version they did of this at the abbey road studios. it was sort of acoustic. check it out on youtube.

I always thought it was "never tell me who I have to be again" which would gowith the whole "killing striotypes" theory.

I'm actually also a "black dude with dreads" but because of my own personal ability to transform via understanding social constructs and moving beyond me, only someone who hadn't spoken a word with me would describe me as such.

anyway thats what i took from the song. a rebelion against social norms. But the song following his life sounds totally legitamate too.

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
