Your heart is broken
To your surprise
You're sick of cryin'
For blue eyes
So tired of livin'
Misunderstood
Think hard woman
I think you should

Come, sorrow is so peculiar
It comes in a day, then it'll never leave you
You take a pill, wonder if it will fix you
They wonder why sorrow has never left you

I'm talkin' bout blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter, matter
Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter matter
So blind, so blind
What's the matter, matter
Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter with you?

Your heart got broken
On the underground
Go find your spirit
In a lost and found
Oh, I've been watchin'
How you behave
Not much like a lover
More like a slave

Come, sorrow is so peculiar
It comes in a day, then it'll never leave you
You take a pill, wonder if it will fix you
They wonder why sorrow has never left you

I'm talkin' bout blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter, matter
Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter, matter
So blind, so blind
What's the matter, matter
Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter with

Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter matter
Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter matter
So blind, so blind
What's the matter, matter
Blue eyes, blue eyes
What's the matter with you?
What's the matter with you?

I think it's about depression. "blue eyes" is like sad eyes, not necessarily a blue eyed man. "you take a pill wondering if it will fix you, then wonder why sorry has never left you" anti depressants not working?

"I've been watching how you behave, not much like a lover, more like a slave." He's noticing because her behavior is out of the ordinary, and he has to notice, he's not just watching cause he wants. Being sad over a broken heart is normal...that line differentiates it between normal breakup sadness and depression.

its actually a beautiful song, and nails ithe feeling perfectly. I love the guitar in the beginning also.

I think its about a person who is always getting hurt, heart broken. Taking pills, thinking it will help the pain go away. Sorrow keeps coming back.

noticed that "think hard women" sounds like finger a women, maybe the heartbroken women 'turned' lesbian to make her old bofo jealous

This is either about a troubled, heartbroken girl who is constantly hurt by but, still wants to be with a particular person who happens to have blue eyes. She continues to cry sorrowfully, take pills, and pick herself up because of this blue-eyed lover. OR this girl is feeling inadequate and wishes herself to be better for her lover. She is crying, wishing she was different (had blue eyes perhaps?) to accommodate for her insecurities.

Isn't it "your heart got broken on the underground"? I love how if you don't listen properly this sounds like a fun, upbeat kind of song but when you find out the words it's actually quite clever and beautiful.

i think that this song is about someone who takes medication for depression and expects it to fix her. but really you can't do that, because if you don't face your problems they'll never go away.

I'm talkin' bout blue eyes, blue eyes What's the matter, matter Blue eyes, blue eyes What's the matter matter so blind, so blind What's the matter, matter Blue eyes, blue eyes What's the matter with you?

i think this means that he's saying you can't see clearly through eyes clouded with sorrow. i could go more in-depth, i guess.......

    Song Meaning

I watched an interview with Mika about this song and he said it's literally about a woman who loses her heart on the London underground rail system. He said they have a lost and found bucket for everything - a couple full of dentures even - so the woman
