Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

At first listen, it sounded like a cute song but after listening to it a few times, it sounds more like a confessional. There's a You and there's a She and I think they're different people. He's having a relationship on the side and he's telling "you" that it's too cold here; he can't offer her his sweater, but he can offer her a place in the holes of his sweater.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that interpretation. There is two women involved the SHE and YOU. He can only offer YOU physical love but his heart belongs to SHE.<br /> Or maybe hes just a super misogynist and is confessing to it by saying he gives his heart to one woman for comfort and uses a girl on the side because there is no room for her in his cold heart

I don't get that vibe from this. I think your interpretation is off just cause the lyrics are wrong. She knows what he thinks about, one love, two mouths, etc., then,"Just us, you find out, Nothing that I wouldn't wanna tell you about, no" he's saying it's just him and her, and she learns there's nothing he wouldn't tell her. I think maybe the whole it's cold bit and the first verse are him going through shit/doesn't know what to do in life, but he still has this girl, and that's one thing he looks forward to. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying hold both your hands, it kind of makes it sound more intimate than just let me hold your hands. I imagine him holding both hands facing her, rather than just giving his sweater. Any guy can give up his sweater. I don't think the cold part is a temperature thing... In an interview they said they like making melodies and then they just start making words up as they go along. This song could just be random lyrics with straightforward lyrics, and all I see is the I Love You in it. My interpretation of the song is that he is emotionally cold and quiet person but also a man of action, he communicates through his actions. He can't just come out and be all romantic but by his body language the girl he loves knows how much he wants to be with her and his actions toward her are warm considering his cold exterior.

The singer of the song is a MAN, he wants to conquer the world and he does not have much thought for anything else. But he "adores" this woman who his "heart beats hardest for", and although he can't offer her his "sweater" (metaphor for his heart), he wants her to put her hands in his sleeves (a brief affair, or a tryst). <br /> <br /> "Let's have an adventure; head in the clouds, but my gravity's centered" – means he wants to have an affair/relationship with this woman, and he's high off their relationship, but still he is grounded enough to not let their relationship sway him from his goals: to conquer the world.<br /> <br /> The chorus presses on the fact that he sees their relationship as a sexual thing. They are both driven by sex – "She knows what I think about, and what I think about's 'one love, two mouths, one love, one house, no shirt, no blouse, just us". Well there could be multiple meanings to this song. but heres mine.
hes in the states (there a british group) for a little bit. hes with a girl, he doesnt like the beach but he wants to make her happy. and when he says all i am is a man i want the word in my hands. Hes meaning he wants everything to go his way and to do everything he wants. then hes describing his lust for this girl. the she knows what i think about part is her sensing his intense sexual attraction. and when he goes on about it hes stating their fantasies they had together, and the fantasies he has of her.
