Product Description
Co-written by The Waltons writer John McGreevey and series music director Alexander Courage, The Childrens Carol, very simply arranged for unision, 2-part or optional 4-part mixed voices could be just the right choral for that lean first Sunday of Advent, a short-staffed Epiphany Sunday or a Christmas Eve service. Many people, and especially fans of the TV series (1977-1982) will mention 1977's The Children's Carol" as their favorite Christmas episode. Set in a time when World War II was affecting everyone, the Walton family takes two young English children, a brother and a sister into their home at the mountain. Refugees from the bombings in London, Tess and Pip have been traumatized and are in need of safety, tenderness and reunion with their separated parents. As a soldier, Jason struggles with his music composition, questioning whether he has the the capacity to fight or to kill. But, taking counsel from those who love him and prepared to face what may come, he turns again to writing his own Christmas song, The Childrens Carol. #Waltons #Christmas choir #Alexander Courage #John McGreever #Jason Walton
