Eternally Missed Lyrics

[Pre-Chorus]
I just don't care if it's real
That won't change how it feels
I just don't care if it's real
That won't change how it feels
No, it doesn't change

[Chorus]
And you can't resist
Making me feel eternally missed
You can't resist
You can't resist
Making me feel

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Chorus]
You can't resist
Making me feel eternally missed
You can't resist
You can't resist
Making me feel
And you can't resist
Making me feel eternally missed
You can't resist
You can't resist
Making me feel

Genius Annotation

The B-Side to Hysteria. It is made up of three completely different choruses. This one has noticeably vocodered (vocoders were used for the robot voice effect in Supermassive Black Hole) background vocals. The band felt that this was one of their best songs by the time they got around to recording Absolution, but once the album had actually been recorded, they hardly believed it could even be a B-side.

Was "Eternally Missed" known by any other name?
Genius Answer

When it was first played live in August 15th, 2002, “Eternally Missed” hadn’t been released as a B-side to “Hysteria” yet. After the perfomance, Matthew Bellamy addressed the crowd with “cheers, cheers, bit rusty that one”. This way, “Rusty One” was the name by which the fans referred to the song, until the single was eventually released in December 1st, 2003.
