Where The Streets Have No Name Lyrics

I wanna run, I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside
I want to reach out and touch the flame
Where the streets have no name

I want to feel sunlight on my face
I see the dust-cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name

We're still building and burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do

The city's a flood and our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind, trampled in dust
I'll show you a place high on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name

We're still building and burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do
Our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
See our love turn to rust
I'll be beaten and blown by the wind

And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do

Genius Annotation

Performed live only once as a tribute to their heroes U2, Muse covered this during their headline set at Glastonbury 2010. U2 were slated to play the Friday headline the night before but pulled out due to Bono’s back being injured. Bellamy had teased a collaboration with U2 for Muse’s performance, so U2 guitarist David “The Edge” Evans joined them to cover this during the encore.
Notably, the song was played a semitone down from the original recording.
Muse will likely never perform it again.
