Like a Prayer (Dub Beats) Lyrics

[Ad Libs: The Andrae Crouch Choir and Prince]
Woo!
That skinny motherfucker with the high voice
Yeah, yeah, yeah
That skinny motherfucker with the high voice
I'll take you there
That skinny motherfucker with the high voice
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Sing it, go 'head
That skinny motherfucker with the high voice
I'll take you there
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Woo!
I'll take you there
That skinny motherfucker with the high voice
Yеah, yeah, yeah
Sing it, go 'head
Oh my God
Yеah, yeah, yeah
That skinny motherfucker with the high voice
I'll take you
All right!

About

Genius Annotation

The “Dub Beats” remix of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” is a mostly instrumental reworking of the pop hit, focusing largely on the track’s bass and percussion elements and highlighting the vocal ad libs recorded by the iconic Andrae Crouch Choir. Also of note, previously unused portions of Prince’s guitar work are occasionally layered in. The remix is perhaps most notable for including a sample (“That skinny motherfucker with the high voice!”) from
“Bob George”, a track from Prince’s then-unreleased, highly-bootlegged Black Album. Originally scheduled to be released in 1987 (but shelved until 1994), the sample on the “Dub Beats” remix in 1989 was the first commercially available snippet of Black Album material.
