The Other New Song Lyrics

[Intro]
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah

[Verse 1]
See the vultures come
See the vultures come for me
Falling from the sun
Falling down to wait for me
Just sit and stare
Waiting 'til I hit the ground
Feel the vultures tear
Feel the vultures tear at flesh

[Refrain]
Vulture, it's time to say
Pick the bone until you're prey
Fall below and in between
Pick the bone until you're prey

Woah
Woah
Woah, yeah
Woah
Woah
[Verse 2]
Rat without soul
Rat rummage high and low
Search for my soul
Search though I'm high above
Wings beat behind
Too late, too late again
They desperately search for soul
But must settle for flesh and bone again

[Refrain]
Vulture, it's time to say
Pick the bone until you're prey
Fall below and in between
Pick the bone until you're prey

Woah
Woah
Woah, yeah
Woah
Woah

[Bridge]
Vultures
Search on, vultures
Vultures
Vultures
Search on, vultures
Vultures

Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah

[Refrain]
Vulture, it's time to say
Pick the bone until you're prey
Fall below and in between
Pick the bone until you're prey

Woah
Woah
Woah, yeah
Woah
Woah

[Outro]
Vultures

About

Genius Annotation

Also known as “Vulturus” or “ Vulturous” by fans, this song is one of two songs (the other being “The New Song”, also known as “Death Is Not The End”) played by Metallica during their Escape from the Studio ‘06 and Sick of the Studio '07 tours as a little teaser for their future album Death Magnetic. It was never given a proper title, and still remains officially known as “The Other New Song”, as shown on the official Metallica song catalog.

Like “The New Song”, this song was played four times. Three times in August 2006 while in Asia, and once more ten months later in Spain. Unlike “The New Song”, there were no changes instrumentally or lyrically overtime as the band toured.

Seemingly, none of the songs on Death Magnetic were derived from “The Other New Song” and was dropped completely during the recording process.
