[Verse 1: Micnif']
Emcees out there
Beware be scared
There is a new cat in the block
That y'all should fear
Possesses skill
Beyond what you might expect
There is no contest
I was bound to be the best
Brothers, show me love
This is no time for hating
Get kicked to the curb
Or start appreciating
I don't need no drama
Or the reason for y'all mothers
To be crying over you suckers

You're still needed
Quit the mic
And start praying to Jesus
Hip Hop is my only true religion
I'm on a mission
I wanna start teaching emcees
The meaning of emcee-ing
They seem to be misleading -
The young kids
Taking them the wrong direction

That ain't the kind of attitude
I want portrayed amongst youngsters
Just take my hand
And I'll lead you through the darkness

[Verse 2: Micnif']
Some may get their inspiration
From the herbal tree
But I get mine directly
From the G-O-D
Creator of all species
Controller of the universe
There is no greater than H.I.M
Down here on Earth

Although scientist
May disagree with this
Still can't prove how earth
Came into existence
All they seem to have
Is just assumptions
Saying that Earth was formed during
The cause of some chemical reactions

Now that's nonsense
Totally obnoxious
It's obvious that they just
Wanna wipe away my conscious
Ignorance is evil
And its defending by the majority
It's clear to see that
Revolutionary minds is a minority
The devil is a liar
And his workshop is an idle mind
Engage yourself in prayer if you feel
Like you're stepping out of line
Follow Christ
And love the world as he did
Love your friends and enemies
Regardless of any beef

[Micnif' talking:]
Yeah!
I don't think they hear us man
Uh! Killah_Beatz!!
We got em man! we got em!
Listen, listen!
Yeah! Uuh!

[Verse 3: Micnif']
Mistakes are made
So we can learn from them
Teach you how to strong stand
And how to earn from them
Learn to forgive thy brother
If you wanna see peace
Make no time for suckers
Who'd be looking for beef

We don't need no war
'cause life itself is a war
I'm fighting for the right thing
And not for what is wrong
Stand tall, never fall
Those already in it
For this battle that we are in
We're gonna win it

In case you didn't know
I'm talking the revolution
God-consciousness
This is the evolution
I look into the future
All i see is scary things
Human life is threatened
By very evil beings

We need to stop all of this
From happening
And one way by doing that
Is by chanting
The Holy names of the G-O-D
The Almighty
Supreme Personality

Genius Annotation

A song which starts off with a reference from Lauryn Hill’s Everything is Everything, the fourth single from Lauryn Hill’s debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

The song tackles in a sense the same breathe of injustices and struggles faced by the youth in the communities, i.e., unprotected sex, alcohol and substance abuse, gang-related violence, social and economic injustices.

Micnif’s style of Hip Hop have been intertwining with scripture a lot throughout this song and I Am A Lyricist which references verses from The New Testament. This song is about changing negative situations into positive situations, and he uses the metaphor of “develop a negative” in the same breathe Lauryn did on Everything is Everything, to portray a positive picture in the society and communities at large that change begins when they start to embrace their shortcomings and lack of financial stability at turn it around. It’s important to aspire for change, but you have to know that it’s hard to come and nobody’s sure it will eventually happen, but it all starts in believing that it can with oneself.

This song’s intend is to provide a remedial approach to the struggles that are being faced by the communities and does so by encouraging the masses to engage in prayer, be the Lord’s Prayer or from their hearts, and this approach is in contrast with engaged in heated quarrels and arguments.

Let us Pray:

Matthew 6: 9-13

In the words of R.Kelly, Prayer changes.
