Do This Anymore Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Left on an eastbound train, gone first thing this morning
Why's what's best for you, always the worst thing for me?

[Bridge]
When am I gonna learn? Why? 'Cause I'm tired of hating
When will it be your turn? Why? 'Cause I'm tired of waiting

[Chorus]
No, I don't, no I don't, no I don't
Well no, I don't find faith in your forced feelings
Not fooled by your misleadings
Won't buy this line your selling
Tired of this lie your telling
I won't, I don't, no, I won't do this anymore
I won't, I don't, no, I won't do this anymore

[Verse 2]
She says I'm only tellin' half of it
That's probably because there's only half worth tellin'
And every time I try to laugh it off
That's when you turn around and wind up yellin'

[Bridge]
When am I gonna learn? Why? 'Cause I'm tired of hating
When will it be your turn? Why? 'Cause I'm tired of waiting
[Chorus]
No, I don't, no I don't, no I don't
Well no, I don't find faith in your forced feelings
Not fooled by your misleadings
Won't buy this line your selling
Tired of this lie your telling
I won't, I don't, no, I won't do this anymore
I won't, I don't, no, I won't do this anymore

[Verse 2]
She says I'm only tellin' half of it
That's probably because there's only half worth tellin'
And every time I try to laugh it off
That's when you turn around and wind up yellin'

[Bridge]
When am I gonna learn? Why? 'Cause I'm tired of hating
When will it be your turn? Why? 'Cause I'm tired of waiting

[Chorus]
No, I don't, no I don't, no I don't
Well no, I don't find faith in your forced feelings
Not fooled by your misleadings
Won't buy this line your selling
Tired of this lie your telling
I won't, I don't, no, I won't do this anymore
I won't, I don't, no, I won't do this anymore

About

Genius Annotation

The is a song about a insecure misogynist who blaming all of his issues and projecting his insecurities on his girlfriend’s minor infractions and other non-issues the narrator of this song is exaggerating to be comparable to abuse in an attempt to emotionally manipulate his girlfriend.

Musically the song is the first instance of Nickelback re-writing their previous hit song “How You Remind Me”, sharing the same chord progression and song structure and overall the composition and the musical idea of the song is the same as How You Remind me, the only things that have been changed is that vocal melody is sung in a higher register compared to How You Remind Me, the vocal hook after the chorus in How You Remind Me has been removed, the intro of the song is briefly in F minor before modulating to C minor for the rest of the song (the same key of How You Remind Me) and this song has a guitar solo in the bridge whereas How You Remind Me’s bridge was repeat of the refrain after the chorus and repeat of the first verse before going back to the chorus. The minor differences however fail to hide how the song is re-write of the song because the song is mostly the same as How You Remind Me.
