Life is like a board game some of the time
Mistakes and heartbreaks are no crime
But there's a light creepin' through under broken skies
Got plans? Better hurry, 'cause time flies
[Pre-Chorus]
Hold tight, get ready for the ride
[Chorus]
If everythin' was easy, nothin' ever broke
If everythin' was simple, how would we know?
How to fix your tears, how to fake a show
How to paint a smile, yeah, how would we know?
How good we have it, though? Mmm
[Verse 2]
Lifе is like a dance floor some of thе time
(Life is like a dance floor some of the time, mm)
Dancin' with the stars, oh, every night
And gravity comes and wraps her arms around you again
It's all fun and games until the party ends
[Pre-Chorus]
Hold tight, get ready for the ride
If everythin' was easy, nothin' ever broke
If everythin' was simple, how would we know?
How to fix your tears, how to fake a show
How to paint a smile, yeah, how would we know?
How good we have it, though?
[Bridge]
Lookin' at the sun our whole lives
We're blinded by the (Lights)
Lookin' at the sun our whole lives
We're blinded by the lights, ooh
[Pre-Chorus]
We're still not ready for the ride
[Chorus]
If everythin' was easy, nothin' ever broke
If everythin' was simple, how would we know?
How to fix your tears, how to fake a show
How to paint a smile, yeah, how would we know?
Oh, if everythin' was easy, nothin' ever broke
If everythin' was simple, how would we know?
How to fix your tears, how to fake a show
How to paint a smile, yeah, how would we know?
How good we have it, though?
How good we have it, no?
So, hold tight, get ready for the ride

This is the one that set the tone for the whole record. It’s the first song I wrote for the album. It was me sat at the piano in my living room during the pandemic and then taking it to my good mate, Jamie.
‘The Show’ is basically about the fact that as human beings, we all have a natural urge to be in control. When things pop up that rattle that control,eg: a global pandemicwe don’t know what to do with ourselves. But if you can take a step back and let go, you can see things from a different perspective. That’s exactly what I mean about those opening lines of the chorus: “If everything was easy, nothing ever broke / if everything was simple, how would we know?” It’s about being grateful for what you have right now.“
