Written by Cobain from late 1988 to mid 1989, “Breed” was originally titled “Imodium,” after the anti-diarrhea medicine used by Tad Doyle, who was the lead singer of TAD. He came up with the name during Nirvana and TAD’s shared European tour during late 1989.
