Don’t Stop... (Demo) Lyrics

[Intro]
One, two, three
Two, two, three

[Verse 1]
Bye bye my friend, I'm leaving
I'm gonna feast on the stars in the sky
And while I be gone, don't stop dreaming
And don't be sad and don't cry
'Cause lazy days and sunny rays will guide me
Back home where I belong
If God gives me grace, then He will find me a space
And I hope I'll be singing this song

[Chorus]
Don't stop being happy
Don't stop your clapping
Don't stop your laughing
Take a piece of life, it's alright
To hold back the night

[Verse 2]
Lazy days and sunny rays will guide me
Back home where I belong
If God gives me grace, then He will find me a space
And I hope I'll be singing this song
[Chorus]
Don't stop being happy
Don't stop your clapping
Don't stop your laughing
Take a piece of life, it's alright
To hold back the night

[Bridge]
From time to time, though we're whole words apart
You will still hold a groove in my heart
From time to time, we will fall side by side
You'll still have that look in your eye

[Instrumental]

[Chorus]
Don't stop being happy
Don't stop your clapping
Don't stop your laughing
Don't stop your laughing
Don't stop your laughing
Don't stop your laughing
Don't stop your laughing
Take a piece of life, it's alright
To hold back the night
[Outro]
It's alright to hold back the night
It's alright to hold back the night

About

Genius Annotation

After Oasis broke up in August 2009, YouTube footage emerged of Noel Gallagher performing a new, unknown song during a soundcheck while on tour in Hong Kong that year.

Another partial recording of the song from a Paris date of the tour was further proof of the song’s existence.

Then on April 29, 2020, Noel Gallagher announced on social media that he had rediscovered the demo of the hitherto mystery song on an unmarked and undated CD while staying at home during the COVID-19 outbreak of 2020. He also confirmed that its title was “Don’t Stop…”

What did Oasis say about "Don't Stop... (Demo)"?
Genius Answer

According to Noel Gallagher when announcing the song’s release:

Hey there dudes and dollies.

Like the rest of the world I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CDs I’ve got lying around in boxes at home.

As fate would have it I have stumbled across an old demo which I thought had been lost forever.

As far as I’m aware there is only one version of this tune “out there” from an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong about 15 years ago?

I’m not sure whether the soundcheck version pre dates the demo as there’s no date on the CD.

I know some of you love this tune so we thought we’d put it “out there” for you to enjoy/argue over.

It’ll be up on the Internet from midnight.

The song is called:
‘Don’t Stop…’

Hope everyone is staying safe and trying to ride out the lockdown with the minimum of fuss.

You’re welcome by the way.
