“Salt” is an upbeat self-empowerment anthem about moving on from a past relationship by American singer-songwriter Ava Max. She uses “salt” as a metaphor for tears because they taste salty. By saying she is “all out” of it and “not gonna cry,” she tells the listener that she has moved on from her past relationship.
