This is the final track of the album, meaning listeners are supposed to hear it after already having heard the rest of the album. So, its goal is to have you contemplating the themes regarded in previous songs.

The song previous to this track itself, (D)eath, features a character who commits suicide, believing that life is but a dream. Life is But a Dream… is a continuation of that storyline, possibly describing the character as having reached an afterlife of sorts.

The lack of lyrics could also imply that said afterlife is truly nothingness, or maybe something beyond comprehension (although the former seems more likely).
