“Never Leave Me“ may be the penultimate song on Avicii‘s posthumous album TIM, but it was, in fact, the last song ever written by Tim.
It was produced when Albin Nedler and Kristoffer Fogelmark were staying at Tim‘s place in Los Angeles two days before he left for Oman in April of 2018, where he would sadly pass away. The duo were good friends of Tim and they shared a great passion for producing music.
In an interview about the song, Nedler and Fogelmark (the producers of the song had this to say and express their happiness and satisfaction about this track being Tim‘s last.
To me, it feels really good. The last thing that came out was just pure joy and a beautiful love song. […] It felt like everyone involved contributed and this is what we created on the last day. It‘s intact. It‘s what he left behind.
