Always Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Oh maybe, when I'm hurting
Oh maybe you will give a little time to me
And someday when I really need you
You will take me in your arms and you will say

[Chorus]
Always, sure as the rising sun
Always, morning's begun
Always, the way that all good things come
Always, always

[Verse 2]
Can you hear me when I'm way down here?
Oh maybe you will one day walk away from me
Or stay close when the wind is howling
And never let me go

[Chorus]
Always, sure as the rising sun
Always, morning's begun
Always, the way that all good things come
Always, always

[Chorus]
Always, sure as the rising sun
Always, morning's begun
Always, all good things come
Always, always
[Bridge]
Oh baby, one day you'll walk away, one day you'll walk away from me
Oh maybe, you'll be there for me, you'll be there for me
You'll be there for me

[Chorus]
Always, sure as the rising sun
Always, morning's begun
Always, the way that all good things come
Always, always

Genius Annotation

“Always” is the 12th track and 5th single of Above & Beyond’s sixth studio album, Common Ground.

Featuring english singer Zöe Johnston, who has worked with A&B multiple times before and is featured on two other tracks of the album (“My Own Hymn” and “Sahara Love”), “Always” is an acoustic experience to the listener, showcasing the group songwriting skills and leaving behind any traces of doubt that someone could have about being only trance music producers. Released a week before the album release, the last but one track from Common Ground is meant to be a calm and peaceful experience to the mind.

The music video, released on the same day, was shot in the French Alps. “Yes, it was very cold. No, we’re not telling you how we got the piano up there”, they said.
