“Rooting for You” is the second single released off of Alessia Cara’s summertime EP This Summer. According to a tweet in response to a fan, it is one of Alessia’s favorite tracks on the EP.
The song tells a story of a friendship which turned sour after Alessia was constantly tied up in drama. She mourns the loss of the opportunity to build a good friendship, but acknowledges that she tried to give her all and got nothing she wanted in return.
