Tightrope Lyrics
Life's a tightrope
And you're standing on one toe
Don't let the fear take hold of you
You're bound to fall to the ground below
Pick yourself up again
Over the edge again
Hold on to your hopes and dreams
When all seems to be lost
Don't start to count the costs
Just go and begin again
[Refrain]
Tightrope walker
Tightrope walker
[Chorus]
The only thing I'm sure of is to have no fear at all
Just go, keep on going on
And the only thing that's certain is sometimes you're bound to fall
Just go, keep on going on
[Verse 2]
When all you work for
Comes tumbling to the ground
Don't let the sadness fill your heart
Tomorrow may be a better day
Lift your head up again
You know you'll start again
No matter what may come of it
You know there's more to life
I'm sure that you'll survive
You know what you have to do
Tightrope walker
Tightrope walker
[Chorus]
The only thing I'm sure of is to have no fear at all
Just go, keep on going on
And the only thing that's certain is sometimes you're bound to fall
Just go, keep on going on
[Bridge]
Who knows, who knows, who knows what may come tomorrow
Who knows, who knows, who knows, what tomorrow may bring
Who knows, who knows, who knows what may come tomorrow
Who knows, who knows, who knows, what tomorrow may bring
[Chorus]
The only thing I'm sure of is to have no fear at all
Just go, keep on going on
And the only thing that's certain is sometimes you're bound to fall
Just go, keep on going on
Just go, keep on going on

“I’ve always preferred writing on my own in the past, but when you work with Diplo [from Run Up, people who bring ideas to the table and vibe off what you do while you’re vibing off what they do, you create work that’s more balanced and moving.

Yeah, that [songwriting] is something I do. To write songs you kind of have to love love or have lost love. I mean that with any kind of love. That’s what writing music really all about. There are songs on the record which are telling-a-story songs like “Up All Night” and “Tightrope” but there are others that go deeper than that. To be a musician, I think at least, you have to be intimately in touch with your emotions. To write music or to be a songwriter I think you have to be romantic. If you’re not, it’s going to be hard to write songs.
