In a press conference in Portuguese that took place on August 5, 2022 where iBahia was present, Brazilian singer Anitta reveals about a new song in English, but with a Brazilian musical style, funk melody. She says the following about the song:

I already have a funk carioca (song) more melody, with a partnership, recorded, too beautiful. Not as much (funk) as “Vai Malandra” and “Boa Rebola”. I have a plan, I’m really trying to find the perfect sound. I want to do it in English, but with the sound of Brazil. But it sure is the plan

According to Anitta, the launch did not happen before because of the beginning of her international career.

This funk thing that I’m putting, I’m opening the doors with the rhythms that make it easier to open the door and from the moment I opened that door I’m putting funk. I won’t have the same reception of a rhythm that the guys are already used to. But I’m doing it little by little, it’s like a ladder.
