“Not 20 anymore” is about me turning thirty and I’m really scared, but I feel like I’m a better lover, I’m a better person than I’ve ever been, I love my body, I love my age. And I think this is really important for women: this is a very strong and empowering song. All my life I’ve been in the music business and people don’t talk about it. Everybody is so scared about their age. All my life I’ve been kinda made to be insecure about my age, especially as a female. We’re always made to feel like that when we get older, we’re uglier. I’m a strong-ass woman.
