“Mycelia,” together with “Trölla-Gabba,” is one of the two instrumental tracks off Fossora. The word “mycelia” is the plural of “mycelium,” which is the formation of a network of extremely fungal filaments that grow very quickly and in all directions. The structure can form a web that can generate mushrooms when under the proper weather conditions.

As suggested in a video posted on Björk’s official website, as well as on on the album’s title-track, “Mycelia” sounds like mushrooms growing and spreading across the soil.
