TERRIFIED Lyrics

[Verse 1: Tom DeLonge]
I can't feel my body
And nothing else here matters at all
The shapes become electric
Innocence and magic for all
I'm liftin' past the skyline
And no one seems to notice my fall

In and out the timelines
Now I see the truth of it all

[Chorus: Tom Delonge]
We'll go (Oh-oh)
Terrified (Oh-oh)
We'll go (Oh-oh)
Terrified

[Verse 2: Tom DeLonge]
Laughter from the children
The streets are made of silence for you
I will reach the summit
To hold you in my arms with a view

[Chorus: Tom Delonge]
We'll go (Oh-oh)
Terrified (Oh-oh)
We'll go (Oh-oh)
Terrified
[Instrumental Bridge]

[Chorus: Tom Delonge]
We'll go
Terrified (Oh-oh)
We'll go (Oh-oh)
Terrified

Genius Annotation

“Terrified” is a reworked Box Car Racer song, written in 2018 and, after Travis brought the idea, finished as a blink-182 song in 2022.

Travis stated the song made the album, even though he had said before it would never see the light of day. Producer Aaron Rubin gave a vague answer to a question if “Dance With Me” was the reworked song, as was thought for a long time, and if the song would appear at all. Weirdly placed capital letters in his answer form “Terrified”.

Mark buried his ego for this song to be on the record, “Looking past all the shit and just making good music”.

The song might have a connection with “Elevator”, another Box Car Racer song, featuring Mark Hoppus. Both songs describe a scene of the feelings of a person falling to their death after jumping off a building, as well as how the fall is perceived by spectators.
