DANCE WITH ME Lyrics

[Intro: Tom DeLonge]
When I teach masturbation, I'm always just like, "Have fun with it"

[Verse 1: Tom DeLonge]
Don't think, maybe she won't refuse
She knows everything that I think
That girl, prettiest I could lose
My game's shittiest I could be
I've been waiting around to lose
So dumb, trying to make believe
You're mine, what are you gonna do?
Come here, do you want to come dance with me?

[Pre-Chorus: Mark Hoppus & Tom DeLonge]
Tellin' your friends you know you want to (Dance with me)
Shaking those hips like the devil's got you (Dance with me)
Waiting all night 'cause now I want you (Dance with me)
Eyeing that chance, here we go, I got you (Dance with me)

[Chorus]
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long

[Verse 2: Tom DeLonge]
This song is making me beg for more
These drinks are breaking up old routines
My mind pushing me out the door
So fucked, wishing I weren't so green
Me, you, won't you just fall in love?
Like me, or am I just too naive?
Tonight it's getting a bit too rough
But now, really wanting to make her scream

[Pre-Chorus: Mark Hoppus & Tom DeLonge]
Tellin' your friends you know you want to (Dance with me)
Shaking those hips like the devil's got you (Dance with me)
Waiting all night 'cause now I want you (Dance with me)
Eyeing that chance, here we go, I got you (Dance with me)

[Chorus]
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long

[Bridge: Mark Hoppus]
Dance with me, come dance with me
(Dance with me, dance with me, dance with me)
Dance with me, come dance with me
(Dance with me, dance with me, dance with me)
We're doing it all night long

[Chorus]
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
Olé, olé, olé, olé
Yeah, we're doing it all night long

[Outro: Tom DeLonge]
You beat my heart from miles away
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
You spin me like a hurricane
Yeah, we're doing it all night long
You love to play your little games
Yeah, we're playing them all night long
I'd like to have you every day, every way
And do it all night long

What did blink-182 say about "DANCE WITH ME"?
Genius Answer

Producer Aaron Rubin had this to say on Instagram about how the song was in constant flux during production:

The structure was a constant change on this one. There was longish LCD Soundsystem type intro originally and that got cut out. The “Oles” were the original chorus but then they were unsure that would be cool so Tom wrote a new chorus melody and made the “Ole’s” the Outro. Then they missed the “Ole’s” and put them back in the chorus and made the “new chorus” the Outro. The guitar riff in the second verse was actually the last thing added. There was another riff in there that I wasn’t loving and Travis agreed so we were all up at Travis' studio and put the verse on loop for an hour until that came out of Tom’s fingers and we knew that was it. I then ran the riff through a Leslie as an homage to ‘Stockholm Syndrome’."

How was the song teased?

In September 2023, a couple of snippets of album songs were shared on the Stall page on the official Blink website, one of which was “Dance With Me”. A week after the first one, another snippet of the song could be heard when flushing one of the toilets on the page.

The snippet most likely debunks that this is the same song as an unreleased Box Car Racer song that goes by the same name, even though both feature singer Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker. The name was decyphered on the presumable tracklist of the album, shared by Travis back in March. Around the same time, Travis declared “The Box Car Racer song idea will be on the album.”, even though he stated it would never about a month earlier. This made fans believe the unreleased Box Car Racer song would make the album for months. The ‘song idea’ has likely been implemented into another song on the album.

What music video is it a pastiche of?
Genius Answer

The music video mimics the video for the Ramones 1978 song ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’
