HURT (INTERLUDE) Lyrics

[Verse: Tom DeLonge]
Have you hurt like this before? (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
When your heart's already torn (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
When your tears are on my mind (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
We fall apart there every time (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Have you loved like this before? (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Someone's heart laid on the floor (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Yeah, we know that love is blind (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Yeah, it's damaging those eyes

Genius Annotation

“HURT (INTERLUDE)” is the thirteenth song on blink-182’s tenth album, “ONE MORE TIME…”. It is the fourth song labeled an interlude by the band: the preceding three are “Stockholm Syndrome Interlude”, “The Fallen Interlude”, and “Heart’s All Gone Interlude”.

“HURT (INTERLUDE)” is unique in its vocalization, late placement on the album, and lack of obvious connection to another song.

“Stockholm Syndrome Interlude”, a spoken narration of a letter by Joanne Whalley, is the fifth song on blink-182’s self-titled album and leads into “Stockholm Syndrome”. “The Fallen Interlude” is a purely instrumental track also on blink-182’s self-titled album that transitions from the songs “Down” to “Go”. Finally, “Heart’s All Gone (Interlude)” is a purely instrumental track of “Neighborhoods” and serves as an intro for “Heart’s All Gone”.
