The song sees Bryson tackle his loss by reflecting on their last words, her influence on his life, and the hard work he had to put in to succeed as an artist.

Following his grandmother’s death, Bryson posted a letter on Instagram for her, detailing his regrets and explaining her profound impact on his life. He then made a Twitter post on May 20, 2020 explaining how his grandmother’s death brought him healing and thanked her for all she had done for him in his family, and that he would “show out for [her].”

When my grandmother died, so did all my self-doubt & insecurities. I just feel like she asked God personally to heal me and the rest of our family. it’s working 100%. Thank You Maamaw. we gon show out for you.
