The details of the song surfaced when numerous users posted information on it via Reddit and other music discussion sites. Swae later confirmed the rumours as he liked a tweet containing information and the release date of the remix.
Two days before the official release, Camila posted a now-deleted tweet of the song artwork on her Twitter account, promoting the song and also confirming it would be released on the next Friday [August 17, 2018]. A few hours later after the initial tweet, Camila retracted those words and instead changed the release date to the previous day of August 16.
