Too Much Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Am I bad for you?
'Cause I live for the fire, and the rain, and the drama, too, boy
And it feels like you never say what you want
And it feels like I can't get through, babe
Ooh, babe

[Pre-Chorus]
'Cause when I get so low, it takes me higher (Feel the love)
I'm not afraid to know my heart's desire, ooh-ah!

[Chorus]
When I party, then I party too much
When I feel it, then I feel it too much
When I'm thinking, then I'm thinking too much
When I'm drinking, then I'm drinking too much
I'll do anything to get to the rush
Now I'm dancing, and I'm dancing too much
So be careful if you're wanting this touch
'Cause if I love you, then I love you too much

[Post-Chorus]
Is this too, is this too
Is this too much?
Is this too, is this too
Is this too much?
[Verse 2]
Am I too close?
'Cause you fold into me like a heart with a beat
I know now, I know now
And did you know that I'm wild for your skin
And the dance that we're in?
So close now, so close now

[Bridge]
A fire in rainy season
It's hard to get to know me
Are you down, d-down
I'm down, d-down
I trust the, trust the feeling
It's hard to get to know you
But I'm down, d-down
I'm down, d-down

[Outro]
Is this too, is this too
Is this too much?
Is this too, is this too
Is this too much?

What did Carly Rae Jepsen say about "Too Much"?
Genius Answer

In an interview with NME, Carly talked about the inspiration behind “Too Much”:

The concept actually started from a girlfriend of mine who was explaining a memory that was so vivid to me, like a movie. She was dancing at this party, her boyfriend was there and she was feeling gorgeous, she was really getting into the music and letting loose and feeling like eyes were on her in this really positive way. And then this guy kind of came over and said, ‘Can you, like, keep it together?’ And it was such a subtle but hurtful thing. And I felt like that explained how we all feel. […] I think this song was me processing my own insecurities of that and getting to the other side. Like, realising that too much is a great thing. And if somebody can’t handle you for all of your colours and wildness and intensity or the way you feel things, then that’s kind of their problem.
