Sorry If I Hurt You Lyrics

[Intro]
I'm sorry if I—, I'm sorry if I—, I—, I—

[Verse]
I talked to you the way I talk to myself
I started taking you for granted and that's not right
Stopped saying "thank you" when I needed your help
But still I'm taking you for granted and that's not right

[Pre-Chorus]
I never really listen
But when you're gone a part of me is missing
I know it's complicated, we both feel the distance
I really hope that you'll forgive me one day

[Chorus]
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I only make it worse
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if it hurts

[Bridge]
Floatin' in an atmosphere, hiding from the truth in fear
Slowly we both disappeared, now it seems so crystal clear
So in denial
Oh, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
You never really listen
And when I'm gone a part of you is missing
I know it's complicated letting go of feelings
I really hope that you'll forgive me one day

[Chorus]
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I only make it worse
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if I hurt you
I'm sorry if it hurts, oh

[Outro]
Ooh
Oh, yeah, oh
I'm sorry if I—, I'm sorry if I—, I—
Oh

Genius Annotation

“Sorry if I Hurt You” is one of the tracks from the deluxe edition of Charli XCX’s fifth studio album CRASH.

During an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Charli stated that “Sorry if I Hurt You” was originally meant to be the title track of the record, before being ultimately left out of the standard edition:

The album was going to be called Sorry if I Hurt You for quite a long time: I liked that title, because that’s a sentence that you can say in the past, present, and future, and it still means the same thing.
