Yhorm the Giant Lyrics

[Intro]
Bear the scars
Servitude to the light
Servitude to the light

[Chorus]
Servitude to the light, I've found solace
Upon the throne of the owned
Cinder and corpse remain, for their memories
Echo within, yet I bear the scars

[Verse]
All my life
Built up resilience, fought off the evil
Not this time
I'm no more servic, I am not worthless
You are not worth this

[Pre-Chorus]
Seek the flame
Liberate, liberate
Seek the flame
Liberate, liberate
Seeking the profaned flame
To reset and begin again
Liberate
Liberate
[Chorus]
Servitude to the light, I've found solace
Upon the throne of the owned
Cinder and corpse remain, for their memories
Echo within, yet I bear the scars
Servitude to the light, I've found solace
Upon the throne of the owned
Cinder and corpse remain, for their memories
Echo within, yet I bear the scars

[Bridge]
I bear the scars
I bear the scars
Not this time
I bear the scars
Not this time
I bear the scars
I bear the scars

[Chorus]
Servitude to the light, I've found solace
Upon the throne of the owned
Cinder and corpse remain, for their memories
Echo within, yet I bear the scars
Servitude to the light, I've found solace
Upon the throne of the owned
Cinder and corpse remain, for their memories
Echo within, yet I bear the scars
[Post-Chorus]
Seek the flame
Liberate, liberate
Seek (Seek) the (The) flame (Flame)
Liberate, liberate

What did Chelsea Grin say about "Yhorm the Giant"?
Genius Answer

Stephen Rutishauser:

The title is a reference to the Dark Souls video-game franchise, and it’s a character who sacrifices everything. He’s an inherently lonely protagonist. When there’s a threat against his people, he sacrifices so much to face it and keep it at bay, so that those around him can survive. But there’s no appreciation in the end. It’s an unnecessary act followed with sadness and pain, despite being for the greater good. Not that you should always expect praise and whatnot, but it’s a reflection on the wearing effects of giving it all just to get nothing.
