About

This song bio is unreviewed
Genius Annotation

This song is a general lamentation for the adults (young and old) of the world. They ask for the baby on a plane to continue crying, as they and ultimately all other adults are expected to hide their emotions or become numb to them, making their tears socially unacceptable. As one of the final songs on the album, it serves as something of a thesis statement regarding youth empowerment and a dissatisfaction with the status quo. This song explains how the youth continues to raise their voices in protest of things like racism, sexism & gun violence, etc. We were numb but now, we are crying out. The baby’s cries on the plane are uncomfortable and awkward but the baby has to cry and everyone definitely hears, because they have nowhere else to go.
