thoughts and prayers Lyrics
I wake up, it's a bad dream, no one on my side
I was fighting, but I just feel too tired
To be fighting, guess I'm not the fighting kind
Wouldn't mind it if you were by my side
But you're long gone, yeah, you're long gone now
Yeah
I wake up, it's a bad dream, no one on my side
I was fighting, but I just feel too tired
To be fighting, guess I'm not the fighting kind
Wouldn't mind it if you were by my side
But you're long gone, yeah, you're long gone now
Yeah

About
Closing the album off with abrupt fireworks, the track “thoughts and prayers” conveys the idea of waking up from what is thought to be a bad dream, which many when experiencing such dreams tend to forget and move on from what is meant to be a traumatizing experience. That idea is carried from both the samples of the track and its execution to the very title of the cut, which is the same phrase that many have been saying lately after several tragedies, whether meant callously or otherwise.
The static at the end of the track then carries over to the track “twenty eighty four”, to begin the prologue/epilogue to deep dark trench in the form of the preceding EP titled sacrificial lamb, ultimately creating a loop between projects in a “circle of life” type of fashion.
