O.P.P. Lyrics

[Intro 1: Naughty by Nature]
You down with O.P.P.? [Yeah, you know me!]
You down with O.P.P.? [Yeah, you know me!]
You down with O.P.P.? [Yeah, you know me!]

[Intro 2]
This 23-year old man is reading his will
His name is Tariq
He's a suicide bomber
He's determined to die and chooses the next available target
His mission is secretly filmed

[Verse 1]
They fucking with O.P.P
That's Other People's Property
How they gonna promise me peace
When freedom a monopoly?
They sell me my house to the highest bidder
Walls outside but the spies within us
I can't cry gotta hide these rivers
Show my wife there's still life within us
Cold inside, just like our winters
Cold inside, how we like our winners
Martyrs, widows, armies, militias
Friendly, malicious, blind by killing
You idolize sinners, I'll take a ride with 'em
To symbolize freedom, I'll dive into hell
With all the fire there, I'll find some light in it
Strap it to my chest, light the dynamite in us
BOOM, I'm taking my life away
They tryna take it anyway, right?
Sheikh gonna pay my family
More than my job'll ever pay, right?
Modern day hero, pictures up on
Martyr day, see my self on heaven's gate
Don't see a better way to die!
Might as well be today, right?
Don't care bout the who, what, where and why
Today's a good day to die
Ain't looking forward to nothing but I ain't looking behind
So fuck the who, what, where and why
Today's a good day to die
Cuz when you bout to blow up, all you do is look to the sky

And say: Bismillah
Say my grace, and pay respect
Martyrdom is at my door
Facing death, I'll take a breath
Then say: Allahu Akbar
No sin if it's them who want war
Martyrdom is at my door
...so La Illaha illa Llah

[Verse 2]
Now we fucking with O.P.P
We Over Playing Politics
How you gonna promise me peace
You can't, so I'm a take control of this

Wrap that "kufiyyeh" round my neck
Then strap that bomb on my chest
Make sure the trigger hand is the left, don't want
The hand I live with be the same for death
Uh...am I making sense?
Uh...do the little things matter?
Uh...will it make me cleansed?

Or is this baptism with fire?
Shrapnel flying, that are
Made from recycled iron, wired
With home-made explosives, but I make the choices
So my weapons are either faith or logic
BOOM, they taking my life away
Like I wanna take it anyway, right?
Sheikh can pay my family
But can't save them from agony, right?
Father's Day Zero, picture will all
Fade away, might as well be a memory
Sure there's a better way to die
But might as well be today, right?

Don't care bout the who, what, where and why
Today's a good day to die
Ain't looking forward to nothing but I ain't looking behind
So fuck the who, what, where and why
Today's a good day to die
Cuz when you bout to blow up, all you do is look to the sky
So fuck the who, what, where and why
Today's a good day to die
Ain't looking forward to nothing but I ain't looking behind
So fuck the who, what, where and why
Today's a good day to die
The trigger on my left hand, and the Quran to my right

[Outro: Bob Dylan]
Yes, ’n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

Genius Answer

Chyno comments on O.P.P.:

“This is a first person narration of a suicide bomber. I wanted to humanize the situation. It is an extreme situation and nothing I condone, but I wanted to reflect the socio-political pressure that could lead one to do so. The video interprets this specific political problem in a broader everyday corporate life, correlating both situations to reveal human reaction to extreme pressure. I used to be a banker with an office job years ago and I quit my job. Pedros, the director, knew this and thought it was the best way to go to tackle such a sensitive issue.

The message is quite simple. Desperate Times calls for Desperate Measures. Again, I have to emphasis that I do not condone suicide bombing, I just want to reflect the extremity of the Middle-East situation."
