Underground Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Abandoned and lamenting
The wasted days were spent running from ourselves
Aimlessly ramblin' but hey man, at least we've got our health
Oh, but it ain't enough just to be alive
We've gotta lean into the love a little
Before we die

[Chorus]
So, tell me what you need
You bring me to my knees
And I'm tired of running
I'm tired of moving life around
How do we deal with this?
Treat each day as the gift it is
I don't wanna be running
Until I'm underground

[Verse 2]
Let's just forget the unforgiving presence of death
And live wild and free
Godless or not
You can't let the fear control your body
Like a great Canadian darkness
I will cover you
Nothing will harm us
I will protect you
[Chorus]
So, tell me what you need
You bring me to my knees
And I'm tired of running
Tired of moving life around
How do we deal with this?
Treat each day as the gift it is
I don't wanna keep running
Until I'm underground

Dallas Green:

I’ve always tried to use my time wisely and appreciate the life I’ve been given. It’s not lost on me that there could be a higher power in charge of all of this. But I’ve never lived my life assuming that there is one. ‘Underground’ is about being faced with the fragility of life head-on and trying to appreciate every minute that goes by.
