As Soon As It’s Over Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The days go by
And the stars they are all gone
You wonder why there's no one around
When all of them had died

[Pre-Chorus]
When memories fade
You know the signs when they arrive
Is there no one you can talk to
Instead of looking at the wall

[Chorus]
All in all
I'll be the last one standing
When I go away
I will find my peace

[Verse 2]
The lands they all decay
As my vision grows oh so dim
The lights all start to fade
It gets darker all around

[Pre-Chorus]
Take the last train of misery
And throw it all away
But you'd think that it's all over
Just look around you now
[Chorus]
All in all
I'll be the last one standing
When I go away
I will find my peace

[Chorus]
All in all
I'll be the last one standing
When I go away
I will find my peace

Genius Annotation

Damien Beng’s first attempt on space rock/indie track takes on influences like Klaatu, Lovejoy, Nirvana and David Bowie.

Soon after Call Me What You Like by Lovejoy was released, Damien Beng found himself writing alone in the dark at the last day of school as a tribute but the lyrics soon turn into suicidal being finding peace after death and being the last man standing after everyone has gone.

Influences like the latest Lovejoy EP “Wake Up & It’s Over”, Space Oddity by Bowie can be found in this song. This song was composed in less than a day when all the background recording has been finished, with synths being very heavy throughout the song.

You can call it “Damien Beng’s first attempt at making a modern song” and it is good.
