In a similar fashion to how he teamed up with AJ Tracey in December 2016 for the UK Remix of his song “Knotty Head,” Denzel Curry enlists the help of UK-based artists SL and J-Rick for the remix of his May 2019 single “Speedboat.”
On the song, Denzel and SL—who handles a new second verse—discusse topics such as their exorbitant wealth and their dangerous lifestyle. Denzel vows to continue on fighting in life, even in the face of tragic events like the death of his close friend XXXTENTACION, who was shot in Florida almost one year before the release of the song.
The original song was initially released alongside an accompanying animated music video. It was complemented a few months later by the release of this remix, along with an official music video inspired by an action movie meeting the topics addressed throughout the song.
