I Love You Always Forever Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Feels like
I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists
Of pale amber rose
Feels like
I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching
Discovering you

[Verse 2]
Those days
Of warm rains come rushing back to me
Miles of windless summer night air
Summer night, summer night air
Secret moments
Shared in the heat of the afternoon
Out of the stillness, soft spoken words
Say it, say it again

[Chorus]
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together
Everywhere
I will be with you
Everything (say it, say it again)
I will do for you
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together
Everywhere
I will be with you

Everything
I will do for you
[Verse 3]
You've got
The most unbelievable blue eyes
I've ever seen
You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there
Under a blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness, a magical time
Say it, say it again

[Chorus]
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together
Everywhere
I will be with you
Everything (say it, say it again)
I will do for you
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together
Everywhere
I will be with you
Everything
I will do for you
[Bridge]
Say you'll love, love me forever
Never stop, never, whatever near and far
And always and everywhere
And every
Say you'll love, love me forever
Never stop, never, whatever near and far
And always and everywhere
And every
Say you'll love, love me forever
Never stop, never, whatever near and far
And always and everywhere
And every
Say you'll love, love me forever
Never stop, never, whatever near and far
And always and everywhere
And everything

[Outro]
Yeah! Mmmm, yeah!
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together
Everywhere
I will be with you
Everything
I will do for you
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together
Everywhere
I will be with you
Everything
I will do for you
I love you
Always, forever
Near and far
Closer together

About

Genius Annotation

The clearest sign that this is the most important song in the career of Donna Lewis is the fact that the bio on her website begins by explaining that the hit, while being the one by which most fans have come to know her, is not her be-all and end-all, that she has a much broader range as evinced by her duet with Richard Marx “At the Beginning” from the soundtrack to Anastasia to her piano/vocal album Be Still.

The song itself is was inspired by the semi-autobiographical novel “Love for Lydia” by H.E. Bates. The narrator, Richardson, chronicles the affairs of the young, wealthy, sheltered and selfish Lydia Aspen with himself and two other men. In the end, he commits himself to Lydia in a much deeper way then he was capable of even understanding at the beginning of the book.

The song reached #5 on the UK Singles chart and #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks. On the latter, it was kept from #1 by Los Del Rio’s Bayside Boys Remix of “Macarena”. It did reach #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay for thirteen weeks.

What did Donna Lewis say about "I Love You Always Forever"?
Genius Answer

I never think about ‘I Love You Always Forever.’ It’s there, it’s gone, but I wanted to dispel the tag of one-hit wonder, and unfortunately when you have a big song like that, it’s really hard because people are saying, ‘Well, is this as good as that song?’ and ‘Is she going to have another hit?’ I see myself as this serious singer-songwriter, I am, and if people get into my music, they’ll see that, but I’m still known as the girl who sang ‘I Love You Always Forever.’ It’s something I would love to get rid of.

How was process like when creating this track?
Genius Answer

The song was written in my house in Birmingham, England on a little 8 track porta studio. I recorded it all on my Korg M1 keyboard and I wrote the beginning of the song in my head wandering the streets of Birmingham and then finished it when I got home. The song went through changes when I signed to Atlantic Records as different producers wanted to try something different but it lost the magic so I went back to my demo and the rest is history. When that song exploded my life was a whirlwind of craziness. I thank radio for making that song a hit! It was the most magical time seeing the song travel the world!
