Got Rich Twice Lyrics

[Verse 1: E-40]
Hustler 'til I die, drink the bar dry
Baby, there go that man again right back in the public eye
Drunk like Mel Gibson, get high, got a ton of DUI’s
Landy cognac, sippin' X.O., me and my guys
Doing it colossal, living our lives
Trying to get this bobblehead bopper girl to follow me in my ride
So I can make like a dentist and convince her to open wide
Kick her out when I finish, take my ballin' ass back inside
Drunk terminology, corner talk, that's all I know
California mentality, ask about me, pimp, I go
You can check my track record, I don't like to feud
But if I must, I'll have your head severed
Soil block living, trap zones and projects
Corner boy grit, and crack, apartment complex
Worldwide, outside of the Bay they give me my 'spect
The business with hitters, victors, and corporate execs

[Chorus: Turf Talk]
He ain't goin' nowhere, the boy too nice (Too nice)
He’s done it again, I got rich twice (Damn!)
Keep a thumper on tuck (On tuck)
We ain't broke, we papered up (Papered up)
He ain't goin' nowhere, the boy too nice (Too nice)
He’s done it again, I got rich twice (Damn!)
Keep a thumper on tuck (On tuck)
We ain't broke, we papered up (Papered up)
[Verse 2: E-40]
I cut him off like an umbilical cord, turned off his lights
We need to silence that brother, his voice too strong on the mic
I make it look easy but it's not, I'm just doing Feezy
Why should I stop now, pimp? The game need me
Be a real one, pimp, come get it and do it, he used to it
Trying to get these millions profit, and move it, push it and prove it
Louis luggage, ruggish and rugged, my intellect
Duckin' suckas hollerin' and screamin' my hood set
The shiny socks on my Chevy box shaking the cops
You mean I'm off, I'm in it too heavy, I can't stop
People scam and plot on my tombstone and grave plot
Hope I die and rot, have my funeral on my block
The streets, they don't play fair (Play fair)
The mayor, he really don't care (Don't care)
I'ma work the three jobs, tryna keep a roof on our heads
Bologna sandwich, used to peel the mold off the bread

[Chorus: Turf Talk]
He ain't goin' nowhere, the boy too nice (Too nice)
He’s done it again, I got rich twice (Damn!)
Keep a thumper on tuck (On tuck)
We ain't broke, we papered up (Papered up)
He ain't goin' nowhere, the boy too nice (Too nice)
He’s done it again, I got rich twice (Damn!)
Keep a thumper on tuck (On tuck)
We ain't broke, we papered up (Papered up)
[Bridge: Turf Talk]
Tell a thug, we got what ya need (Got what ya need)
(We got it, mayne)
If you want it, gotta cop it from me (Cop it from me)
We on soil, you could see that it's real (See that it's real)
But everywhere we go, we burn hundred bills (Burn hundred bills)

[Verse 3: E-40]
Automatics and semis, high performance and Hemis
In the thick of the soil where we think Buicks is Bentleys
Coffee pots boil, burn, flank, simmer and stew
I'm off of the soil, y'all, I hope you is, too
Out of the Belvedere, cap unit a crew
Showing their underwear, sagging, that's what we do
Turfin', trappin' and stackin' and money mackin'
Servin', earthquake slappin' and trunk rattlin'

[Outro: Turf Talk & E-40]
Got rich twice (Damn!)
Got rich twice (Damn!)
Got rich twice (Damn!)
Got rich twice (Damn!)

Nigga, I done done it again (Damn!)
Nigga, I done done it again (Damn!)
Nigga, I done done it again (Damn!)
Nigga, I done done it again (Damn!)
OOOUH! BIATCH! BIATCH!

About

Genius Annotation

“Got Rich Twice” was unveiled on iTunes two months prior to The Ball Street Journal. DJ Booth described it as “a family affair that brings on monstrous production from his son Droop-E and a raspy hook from his cousin Turf Talk. The absurdly heavy bass line is nothing new, but with 40 behind the lyrical wheel things never get old.”

E-40 calls the song “new millennium mob music” and says it “came about when Turf Talk came with the concept. He was like, ‘Man, you really have got rich twice.’ Cause I got my second wind. And that’s just a little saying. He came with that one and we use that to this day.”

What did E-40 say about "Got Rich Twice"?
Genius Answer

E-40 told Complex:

That’s just new millennium mob music. That came about when Turf Talk came with the concept. He was like, ‘Man, you really have got rich twice.’ Cause I got my second wind. And that’s just a little saying. He came with that one and we use that to this day. Even though Northern California turned they back on mob music—there was always one or two mob music tracks on each of my albums no matter what. Even when they didn’t want it. On My Ghetto Report Card—the one that they called such a hyphy album—there was only two hyphy songs on there really, ’Tell Me When to Go’ and ‘Muscle Cars.’ The rest of the 16 songs was all just different shit.”
