Eldorado Lyrics

[Intro]
Died away into the words
The skies and seas, the claims not heard
Died away into the chest
The final screams, eternity or death
Died away into the myth
The lies and faith, the fear and creed
Died away into the source
The secret keys for sacred doors again

[Break]
In a troubling quiet night
And looking at the sea
Hear the worship rite now
Are they gods?

[Instrumental Interlude]

[Spoken]
"Puedo escribir los versos más tristes esta noche"

[Guitar Solo]

[Verse 1]
Raise the swords and cross the forest
Praise the king, let's move on to find gold!
We're searching all around
(Searching all around to find gold)
March within the trees and birds
And find out where the sound of drums comes from
In the wake of this onslaught
(Wake of this onslaught)
[Pre-Chorus]
Forever I'll cry
'Till I'm out of tears
Forever I'll wait
The gods' realignments

[Chorus]
I wail through the fields of blade
We won't make it through the night
(Through the night)
No name for this shades of greed
Just sorrow in the skies
(In the skies)
Take the fight!

[Verse 2]
At this point, the power balance pended
To the Spaniards kill them all!
Hostilities broke out
(Searching all around to find gold)
Harquebuses, cannons, swords and halberds
Lances, crossbows, pikes and dogs
Massacre, gears of war
(Wake of this onslaught)

[Pre-Chorus]
Forever I'll cry
'Till I'm out of tears
Forever I'll wait
The gods' realignments
[Chorus]
I wail through the fields of blade
We won't make it through the night
(Through the night)
No name for this shades of greed
Just sorrow in the skies
(In the skies)

[Verse 3]
Rituals of life
Gods of Wind, please blow this dark
Away from here
I pray, oh! I bleed just cut my heart
I'm pleasing

[Pre-Chorus]
Shame on you, your demons
In the name of Christ
Will burn in hell forever
No more sacrifice
No more temple of blood

[Chorus]
I wail through the fields of blade
We won't make it through the night
(Through the night)
No name for this shades of greed
Just sorrow in the skies
(In the skies)
[Verse 4]
Dreams, furious, inglorious
Drowning in floods of tears
I walk on the streets
Dream! (Dream!), sing a weeping song and free
(Free in the dreams)
Dreams enslaved Eldorado
Kingdom come
(Kingdom come)
Gold empire

[Guitar Solo]

[Refrain]
Died away into the tears
The cowards and braves
The mask of love and death

[Bridge]
Rages, war and strife
(Rages, war and strife)
Human misery
(Misery)
And all the waste of life
(All the waste of life)
Same old reasons
Smoke and mirrors

[Chorus]
I wail through the fields of blade
We won't make it through the night
(Through the night)
No name for this shades of greed
Just sorrow in the skies
(In the skies)
I wail through the fields of blade
We won't make it through the night
(Through the night)
No name for this shades of greed
Just sorrow in the skies

[Outro]
In the skies

Genius Annotation

(In English)
El Dorado (Spanish for “the golden”) is commonly associated with the legend of a gold city, kingdom, or empire purportedly located somewhere in the Americas. Originally, El Hombre Dorado (“The Golden Man”) or El Rey Dorado (“The Golden King”), was the term used by the Spanish in the 16th century to describe a mythical tribal chief (zipa) or king of the Muisca people, an indigenous people of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense of Colombia, who as an initiation rite, covered himself with gold dust and submerged in Lake Guatavita.
