So Fine Lyrics
Ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh
Ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh
Ooh-la, ooh la-la, ooh-la, ooh la-la, ooh
[Verse 1: Jeff Lynne]
Two drifters on the morning sky
Two drifters sailing wide and high
When summer breezes blow across your mind
With you, I will walk the line
[Chorus: Jeff Lynne, Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt]
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2: Jeff Lynne]
People walking hand-in-hand
Everybody's singing to the band
I wanna be where the stars shine bright
And hear sweet music on a summer night
[Chorus: Jeff Lynne, Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt]
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
Ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh
Ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh
Ooh-la-la, ooh-la-la, ooh-la-la, ooh-la-la, ooh
[Instrumental Bridge]
[Verse 3: Jeff Lynne]
Sun-downers, we'll go on and on
We'll find the land of the midnight sun
And when you look, you'll see for miles around
You'll see the world is in your hand
[Chorus: Jeff Lynne, Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt]
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
Oh, baby, yes, you know just what I want
[Chorus: Jeff Lynne, Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt]
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine (Woo, woo)
I want it so fine, yeah (Woo, woo)
[Outro: Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt]
Ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh
Ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh-la, ooh
Ooh-la, ooh la-la, ooh-la, ooh la-la
About
In so fine the lead singer, Jeffery Lynne was trying to make the song have an “American Style” to it like “The Doobie Brothers” Basically Jeffery Lynne was trying to make a song that had that very “American Style” Harmony to it by making the song a little bouncy.
Jeffery Lynne also states that getting the track was basically switching off and on the motors. He quotes to ‘(SQUEAL)’ and then when it reached the same key that you can hear in “Livin' Thing”. They would just cut it out but it just kept going straight on.
In the end of “So Fine” you can hear the song slowly fade into “Livin' Thing” which they did by Jeffery Lynne unplugging the tape machine when it got to the key ‘A’ which is ultimately the start of “Livin' Thing”
