Step Back Lyrics

[Chorus]
I got shit to do right now
But I’ll text you when I’m done
Life’s not fair but we still care
I hope you know you’re not alone
I’m prepared to loose it all
‘Cause I don’t have nothin' left
Hit me once
Forget me twice
I’m not doin' that again
And I’m not scared
I swear on my Momma
That I’m not scared
I know you’re scared
Come take a step back
I got it from here

[Refrain]
Come take a step back
Come take a step back for me
For me
Come take a step back for me
For me
Come take a step back for me
For me
A step
Come take a step
Come take a step

[Chorus]
I got shit to do right now
But I’ll text you when I’m done
Life’s not fair but we still care
I hope you know you’re not alone
I’m prepared to loose it all
‘Cause I don’t have nothin' left
Hit me once
Forget me twice
I’m not doin' that again
And I’m not scared
I swear on my Momma
That I’m not scared
I know you’re scared
Come take a step back
I got it from here
Come take a step back
Come take a step

Genius Annotation

“Step Back” is the third track on Farah Love’s three song EP titled “Sit, Boy!”. In this song Farah is letting someone know that even though things may not seem the best, she is making sacrifices to make things better. It is implied by the repeated lines “Come take a step back” that Farah may be talking to someone who is suicidal or going toward a self destructive direction in life.

The instrumental/beat was created by Farah’s late older brother Alec Antonio Hanshaw (aka Tone).
