Crystal Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Do you always trust your first, initial feeling?
Special knowledge holds true, bears believing
I turned around and the water was closing all around
Like a glove, like the love that had finally, finally found me

[Chorus]
Then I knew in the crystalline knowledge of you
Drove me through the mountains
Through the crystal-like and clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet, to the sea
To the sea
To the sea, yeah

[Verse 2]
How the faces of love have changed, turning the pages
And I have changed, oh, but you, you remain ageless
I turned around and the water was closing all around
Like a glove, like the love that had finally, finally found me

[Chorus]
Then I knew in the crystalline knowledge of you
Drove me through the mountains
Through the crystal-like and clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet, to the sea
To the sea
To the sea, yeah
To the sea, yeah

Genius Annotation

A rare Fleetwood Mac song in which the lead singer isn’t the songwriter, “Crystal” was written by Stevie Nicks but sung by Lindsey Buckingham. It originally appeared on their Buckingham Nicks album in 1973. Nicks eventually recorded her own version – her solo “Crystal” appears on the soundtrack for the 1998 film Practical Magic and features backing vocals by Sheryl Crow.
