Genius Answer

GQ named it as one of the 10 greatest post-Rumours Fleetwood Mac songs, saying:

‘Everywhere’ is the standout track on Tango In The Night, the last album made by the Rumours fivesome as a whole. It’s another Buckingham-led record, out of necessity rather than choice. Nicks was in recovery from cocaine addiction – ‘Stevie was the worst she’s ever been,’ Buckingham told Uncut in 2013. Fleetwood, too, was in the deep end of his own coke habit, so Buckingham took it upon himself to lead creatively again, this time using some production-tech advancements of the 1980s to add glitter and sparkle to their pop.

‘Everywhere’ is where everything on this album clicks into place – the lustrous synths, the Toto-esque backing vocals – and it’s undoubtedly in the pantheon of great 1980s pop songs. It’s a joyous, airy confection, which has soundtracked countless budding romances over the years.
