The track was originally written for his 1992 solo album, ‘Out of the Cradle’, but ultimately shelved and given to Mac for their 1992 compilation album, ‘25 Years – The Chain’, as he felt it didn’t fit the rest of his album. The song is about how Lindsey feels he has to wear a ‘mask’ of sorts to cope with daily life and the people he meets.
