About You Lyrics
Drinking my coffee, just ruined my day
Picturing us at that corner cafe
Ya, ya, ya-ya, ya, ya, ya-ya
Grabbing my keys, they feel heavy to me
'Cause you gave me back the one you don't need
Ya, ya, ya-ya, ya, ya
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm not tired, I'm not lonely
So why does my mind go back to when you used to hold me?
Time, yeah, it's been enough time
To get you out of my mind
[Chorus]
But now I'm thinkin', I'll never stop thinkin' about you (Ooh)
Yeah, I'm just wonderin' when I'll stop wonderin' about you (Ooh)
You got your hands on me, you got your hands on me
A thousand miles away, but you still got your hands on me
And I'm thinkin', I'll never stop thinkin' about you
[Verse 2]
Going new places, meeting new faces
But your memory still isn't fading
Ya, ya, ya-ya, ya, ya, ya-ya
Maybe I still got some shit left to say
Maybe your ghost is stuck in my brain
Ya, ya, ya-ya, ya, ya
I'm not tired, I'm not lonely
So why does my mind go back to when you used to hold me?
Time, yeah, it's been enough time
To get you out of my mind
[Chorus]
But now I'm thinkin', I'll never stop thinkin' about you (Ooh)
Yeah, I'm just wonderin' when I'll stop wonderin' about you (Ooh)
You got your hands on me, you got your hands on me
A thousand miles away, but you still got your hands on me
And I'm thinkin', I'll never stop thinkin' about you
Now I'm just thinkin' about you, no, no (Ooh)
[Outro]
Now I'm just thinkin', thinkin' about you, ooh
And I'm wonderin', just wonderin' about you, ooh
You got your hands on me, you got your hands on me
A thousand miles away, but you still got your hands on me
And I'm thinkin', I'll never stop thinkin' about you

During a Track by Track with Billboard in August 2019, FLETCHER said:
I worked with this amazing writer and artist, Ingrid Andress. For me, that song is really about the frustration of wondering if or when you’re ever going to get over that person, and when you’re going to finally stop thinking about them. It’s kind of just as simple as that – it’s about wondering, “Am I ever going to get over you…?” My favorite part of that song is recording the “ya, ya” with all of us in a room, with so many gang vocals. I have some truly insane videos of that on my phone.
Also, it’s my little brother’s favorite song on the EP, and he’s kind of my go to. Like, if he gets hyped on it, I’m like, “Okay, cool, maybe I’ll get some more straight fans.” He’s my little hetero test. At least I’ve got one frat bro on my side.
