“Second Guessing” was country duo Florida Georgia Line’s song selection on the American television series Songland, which was demoed by Griffen Palmer on the show. The song is featured as the third song in the duo’s 2020 6-Pack EP.
Apart from the other tracks on the EP, “Second Guessing” was purposely crafted without mention of alcohol or drinking in order to appeal as a wedding song.

Of all the songs we’ve heard on this show from the beginning from both seasons, I’ve never been mad at a hook. Luckily, I’ve been in the room when someone like Kacey Musgraves walks in and says, ‘I want to write a song called ‘Space Cowboy,’ but it’s 'you can have your space, cowboy.’‘ And you’re just like, 'Thank you Jesus, that you just said that in front of me.’ And that [“Second Guessing”] is out of this world.
