Blue's the only color of the rainbow
Since you took the sun out of the sky
Every other pigment seems a faded figment
Of imagination's wishful eye
Since I helped you pack and watched your train go
Like has taken on a duller hue
You took every color of the rainbow with you
Since you left me blue

I used to have such fellow feeling
Orange, red, and yellow feeling
Violet, indigo, and green
Filled each day and each sweet scene
Life was a canvas and you the painter
Now each day the outline's fainter
Since you left our happy home
Everything's turned monochrome

And blue's the only color of the rainbow
Now that I'm without your hand to hold
Starlight doesn't shimmer drops of dew are dimmer
Leaves don't evern glimmer green and gold
I will try to to look beyond the paint, though
Being blind, I find it hard to do
You took every other color of the rainbow
Since you left me blue
